Great Snoring is a rural village close to the river StiffKey. It is two miles north from the larger village called Little Snoring.
There are a number of cottages nearby including Clevency Cottages in Great snoring and The white house at little snoring.

Great Snoring is less than eight miles from Wells Next The Sea which has a fantastic beach and local harbour that is popular for crabbing. The town has all the amenities you would expect from a seaside town including arcades, fish and chips along with a selection of interesting shops and local pubs. Further Wells next the sea is a short distance from Holkham hall and Holkham Beach which is recognised as one of the best beaches in the country.
It is also only a few miles from Fakenham to Great Snoring which has Fakenham racecourse and it is worth visting the Sculthorpe Moor Nature Reserve

There are various theories on the origins of the name. If you look to Great Snoring history, The most plausible is a debased version of the family name that were once land owners in the area – the De Snoryng family.
Little Snoring is a village just two mile south of Great Snoring and is very close to Fakenham.
