The Norfolk Coast is very dear to me. My parents have a home in Old Hunstanton meaning that our family spent a great deal of time visiting local pubs and beaches and watching stunning sunsets due to the unusual positioning of the wash. There are a number of hotels along the coast that take advantage of the considerable influx of visitors in the holiday season. Some of them also offer accommodation throughout the year. The area offers great walks with and without dogs as well as golf and amusements. There is something for everyone including old fashioned bucket and spade beach outings to fancy delis and farm shops. Throw in a healthy number of traditional pubs, golf courses and the Peddars walk and you can't go wrong. The key is to read, research, plan ahead and check availability. Norfolk still has a large number of pubs that offer not just a great place to gather and drink, but also that offer food and accommodation. There is something particularly relaxing and familiar in staying overnight in a pub. Drink, food and sleep all under one roof. An ideal holiday for many of us! Coast Road

The main North Norfolk coastal road is the A149. It runs from Kings Lynn to Cromer along the coast passing through several villages, many with beaches along the way. It is mostly single carriageway and gets busy in the summer. It is lined with traditional properties, many of them holiday cottages.

L’estrange Arms Hotel Old Hunstanton

To start with, The White Horse offers some simply amazing views that are hard to beat anywhere. The raised platform at the rear behind the conservatory looks out across marshland of the staithe to Scott Head Island. I have always found it hard not to stare at the view. Conclusions

The Norfolk Coast has a great deal to offer in terms of accommodation for both Holiday Season and weekend travellers. Pubs with rooms, self catering cottages, as well as large and boutique hotels. All of them recognise the importance of supplying local produce and the variety of holiday on offer is broad. The are is certainly well worth a visit and many return year after year
