Westleton is a frequent winner of Suffolks Best Kept Village title. The village has a 12th century thatched church and a pub/inn The Westleton Crown, whose food is prepared on the premises, using the finest, freshest ingredients and local suppliers wherever possible. Lots of good walking to be enjoyed with both coastal
and heath land trails with the seaside resorts of Southwold
and Aldeburgh not far away and located
just 8 miles from the concert hall at Snape. Under two miles away is Dunwich,
the place where much of the old town now lies beneath the sea, a result
of a storm in 1286. In the small museum you can see how Dunwich used to
look all those centuries ago. Dunwich Heath is one of
Suffolk's most important conservation areas with good walks and fine
views of the Suffolk Coastline. |
