The picturesque village of Woodbastwick, eight miles north east of Norwich is situated on the edge of the Norfolk Broads.  It has one of the most photographed village greens in Norfolk, a green dotted with estate cottages which date from the 19th century.  Some of the cottages are thatched and some have biblical texts on their frontages. The village is home to Woodforde Broadland Brewery.

There are substantial reed-beds and fen woodland round here, where you will find extensive bird life including marsh harriers warbler and bearded tits.  Cockshoot Broad has a boarded walkway to a bird hide that overlooks the broad.

Under the thatched roof of the Fur and Feather inn at Woodbastwick you will find good food as well as the full range of Woodforde's cask beers. The village does not have a local shop for that you will have to go to nearby Horning of Wroxham.

From the banks of the river Bure can be seen many boating events, including the Three Rivers Race, though please note that the area where you can park your car is limited to a handful of cars only.
