Scratby is popular with those who enjoy "seaside time" because it has super long stretches of sandy beach.

Scratby also has cliff tops swathed in picture postcard caravans many with picket fenced front gardens ( a few are available to let on a weekly basis), and there is a small patch of grassland on the cliff with a couple of seats, which is a fine place to stop and take in the sea view.

Far quieter than the Hemsby just up the road, Scratby is an ideal place for a beach holiday, and for a bit more noise and excitement, Great Yarmouth is a short bus ride south around the coast.

Nearby California owes its name to a discovery of 16th century gold coins on the beach in 1848 as the California gold rush was taking place in America at the same time, this small village in Norfolk was christened with the same name.
