A nice village setting but not really ideal if you are looking for a sandy beach because its mainly pebble and shingle, it is however a super place for bird watching, and there is a bird reserve between Salthouse and Cley.

There are a few points where you can walk out to the banks of sand and gravel that usually protect this area from the sea, however it's not unknown for this area to flood when on a high tide when the wind is up.

There is a pub with a large front garden that looks directly over the saltmarsh, where if you are lucky, you can enjoy a pint while watching the marsh harriers soar above. The are a few pairs in this vicinity .

A small shop and a shell food snack bar can be found adjacent to the village green.
