It has lovely wide golden sandy beaches with colourful beach huts peeping out from amongst the sand dunes. The village mostly consists of gingerbread houses built from the local stone and from the beach you can see the old lighthouse and the famous multi-coloured cliffs. There is an extensive championship golf course located just behind the wide sandy beaches. Originally a fishing village, Old Hunstanton can
trace its history back to AD 855 when St. Edmund was shipwrecked here. The village of Old Hunstanton has two pubs as well as
hotel restaurants and the Old Hunstanton Neptune Restaurant. There
is a Post Office and delicatessen, but for a greater range of shops head
for Hunstanton, which is a mile and a half away. |
