Wide flat empty sandy beaches, popular with para surfers and kite flyers can be found at Eccles on Sea, a small hamlet made up of a scattering of cottages surrounded by quiet roads and agricultural land.

This fascinating place is situated almost exactly halfway between Cromer and Gt. Yarmouth. Long ago it was called by the name of The Lost Village, but not all of it has been lost.

Parts of the beach at Eccles on Sea are accessed via steps up over the high dunes. Another route in is via Cart Gap where there is a car park and tracks and paths over the sand dunes down to the beach. A lovely place for walking on the beach with firm sands underfoot.

For shops and eateries head for Sea Palling just a mile up the coast.
