The coastal village of Burnham Norton lies on the North Norfolk Coast off the A149 coastal road hugging an area known as Norton Marsh.

Although you can walk out to a stunning tidal estuary, there is no beach as such at Burnham Norton, instead you will find brackish water marshes rich in bird life and fine views out across the marshy foreshore.

The main footpath from the small free car park leads you out to the mud flats, where the you can see the same bay that is described on the Burnham Over Staithe page but from the other side of the estuary.

This is a much quieter walk generally, as it has not been discovered by many visitors so there are fewer people.

You will find no hotels, inns or restaurants in the small town of Burnham Norton for these you will need to visit the chic village of Burnham Market located just 1 mile (1.6km) away.
