There is not exactly a beach at Brancaster Staithe instead there is an attractive harbour, which is now only navigable to small pleasure crafts.

Water sports are encouraged with boats and canoes available for hire.

The village has a gentle pace with the emphasis on the water.

Scolt Head Island a Nature Conservation Area has the largest breeding colony of Sandwich Terns making it an ideal venue for the bird watcher, the island can be accessed from the harbour by small ferry boats which take visitors out to the reserve during the long summer months.
