Horsey Windpump now owned by National Trust and open to the public from May to September. Its a beautifully restored red brick four storey high
building with splendid views across the marshes from its top. The pump was used to drain the surrounding marsh land as the whole area round here is prone to flooding and in 1938 thousands of acres were flooded by the sea and it took a number of months to drain the land. There is a nice circular walk from here and a small shop serving light refreshments is open at the same time as the mill. |
