A truly amazing church, mostly due to its sheer size, located in what
seems to be a mostly uninhabited area (apart from yappy dogs).
On the day we visited the site, most of the access roads were blocked by localised flooding, so we need to visit again, but we understand from research that work was halted on St. Mary's as a result of the Black Death in 1349, which perhaps means that the village itself was relocated. |
