The ruins of another church, St. Mary’s, stand in the same churchyard as St. John The Baptist. 

Made famous by an infamous rector Reverend Harold Davidson who became a national scandal in the 1930’s for his alleged involvement with prostitutes.

With impressive parapets. 

There is a monument to Nathaniel Bacon the owner of Stiffkey Hall in black marble dated 1615 inside the church. 

From the churchyard one can see the remains of a ruined tower.  This is part of the old Stiffkey Hall which stands in the grounds of the current Stiffkey Hall, which is a private residence.
