St. Margarets is set in the grounds of Felbrigg
Hall and is normally surrounded by sheep. Inside this 15th century church is a small fireplace, which was probably used as a wafer oven to make the communion wafers. There is a particularly fine brass to Sir Symon de Felbrigg who was the royal standard bearer to King Richard II and owner of Felbrigg Hall. He is wearing armour and his wife shows a little dog playing on the hem of her skirts. The brass is over 9ft long and 4ft wide. |
