Located where the Wash meets the North Sea - 270 hectares (650+ Acres) of mudflats, foreshore dunes, salt grazing marsh and open water. Over 280 species of bird have been recorded here including osprey, rough-legged buzzard and harriers.

Species of plant such as sea lavender, sea rocket, prickly saltwort, hounds tongue, the rare grey hair grass and a range of orchids can be found. Holme Dunes covers 560 acres there is also Holme Bird Observatory which covers a further 90 acres.
