Wells-next-the-sea is a small harbour town offering all the amenities needed for the perfect family holiday. For those sun-filled days there is the sandy, award winning beach. For those interested in water sports you can take to the water in dinghies and windsurfing boards are available for rent in the town. There is a good range of small shops, restaurants and country pubs all close by. There is also an intimate local theatre located in the Maltings Complex.

An intricate network of narrow lanes draw you down to the picturesque quay where seabirds wheel and swoop. Here you will find colourful whelk and shrimp boats moored in the harbour.

Summer sees the harbour walls lined with boys and girls equipped with fishing lines and tasty morsels of bacon intent upon catching local crabs.

Close by in its own deer park is the majestic Holkham Hall, home to the Earls of Leicester. On the outskirts of the town is the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway the longest 10¼" narrow gauge steam railway in the world. You can ride on the unique Garratt locomotive "Norfolk Hero" which was built especially for the line out to the ancient pilgrimage town of Little Walsingham.
