Lots to See - Lots to Do

We are situated in a county offering unspoilt countryside and salt marches, perfect for a gentle stroll or a long distance walk, on one of the most un-spoiled coastlines in the Country.

However we are still near to historic Norwich, King's Lynn and the waterways of the Norfolk Broads.

In Wells-next-the-Sea there is a small single track steam railway from the harbour to the beach in the summer months, or you can walk along the pretty causeway admiring the boats.

Shellfish stalls and fish and chip shops can be found down by the Quay.

Perfect for walking, The Weavers, Mariott, Peddars Way and Norfolk Coastal Path offer delightful rambles. The Norfolk Coastal Path starts in Holme-next-the-Sea and finishes in Cromer, passing through the town of Wells-next-the-Sea where Swallow Cottage is situated.

The North Norfolk Coast is a region of infinite interest, and a bird watchers paradise. The virtually un-broken series of Nature Reserves stretching from Holme-next-the-Sea to Weybourne are administered by the National Trust, the Nature Conservancy Council, The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds and the Norfolk Naturalists Trust.

Winter sees thousands of Oyster Catchers, Bar-Tailed Goodwits, Dunlin, Plovers, Brent Geese and Wigeon.  Whilst Spring brings Chiffchaff, Wheatear and Ring Ouzels, to name but a few.

Norwich (about an hours drive away) has one of England's finest Norman Cathedrals and the largest cathedral close in Europe. With over 1,500 historic buildings including the prominently positioned Norman Castle. Here can be found a wealth of shops, theatres and museums, Norwich has something to tempt everyone.
