Peddars Cottage is adjacent to the ancient Bailey gate, part of the
original fortified walls of the historic village of Castle
Acre. The hilltop position of the village means that it commands
fine views over the Valley of the River Nar.

Peddars Cottage sleeps 6 people plus a cot.
Castle Acre with its ecclesiastical and military past is one of
Norfolk's prettiest villages. A steep narrow street leads you through
the Bailey Gate to Stocks Green, a broad manicured lawn planted with
limes and lined with traditional houses, cottages, two pubs and a
scattering of small quaint shops, including a tea shop and a cafe.
Peddars Cottage is an excellent base for an inland and rural holiday,
the village set in heart of the gloriously green Norfolk countryside.
The Cottage is named after the long distance Roman
Footpath 'The Peddars Way' which runs through the centre of the
village.
The Norfolk coast with its wide sandy beaches is about 30 minutes away.
The larger city of Norwich and Cambridge less than an hours drive.
The Royal residence of Sandringham, Medieval port town of Kings Lynn and
Market towns of Fakenham and Swaffham are all near by.
There is a local bus service but the use of a car is
advisable. All daily needs, such as basic provisions and places to eat
can be met within the walls of the the village. Great walking country
and for the children paddling in the river!
